Article 10(6) of the Austrian Nationality Act stipulates that nationality may be granted on the basis of actual or expected achievements of the applicant. The same article further clarifies that applicants are exempt from the obligation to reside in the country for at least 10 years, and can also retain their previous citizenship. Therefore, prospective citizens can gain their Austrian citizenship as a second citizenship, which is not permitted under the common procedure.
The law does not prescribe detailed pre-conditions for the citizenship by investment. Therefore, it is crucial to consult Migratio’s immigration experts. Our specialist team will support applicants from the early planning stages, and liaise with relevant authorities to determine the individual likelihood of the program being accepted.
